RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My research addresses how the brain processes pain in health and disease. Part of this research is theoretical, and involves building realistic mathematical models of neuronal information processes to understand processes of pain perception (such as placebo-related effects) and behaviour (such as avoidance learning). This stimulates experimental questions that we address using a range of methodologies, including fMRI, MEG, EEG, molecular imaging, and behavioural pharmacology and genetics.
