F1000’s Managing Director Rebecca Lawrence recently joined Dr Jo Havemann on the Access 2 Perspectives – Conversations. All about Open Science Communication podcast.  

Jo discussed with Rebecca her journey from a pharmaceutical background to becoming the Managing Director of F1000. The conversation explored the evolving landscape of scholarly communication and efforts to improve transparency and efficiency in the peer review process. The discussion also explored the challenges of shifting traditional publishing norms, including encouraging data sharing, open peer review, and ensuring quality assurance. Rebecca highlighted partnerships with research funders and their role in promoting new publishing models. Ahead of September’s Peer Review Week 2023, Rebecca and Jo also touch on the value of collaborative peer review and open discussions around research findings.
