Qatar National Library (QNL) has an open access agreement with F1000 that enables authors based in Qatar to publish their research openly at no cost to themselves.

This agreement gives eligible corresponding authors affiliated with member institutions of QNL the option to publish open access in various F1000 publishing venues, including F1000Research. Eligible corresponding authors are not required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) – as these are covered centrally by the agreement – and are free to submit any article type offered by F1000.

What are the requirements for publishing open access under this agreement?

To be published under the Qatar National Library open access agreement, articles must:

  • Be accepted for publication after 1 January 2023 and before 31 December 2024.

  • Have a corresponding author affiliated with a participating institution.

  • Be original. All research is suitable irrespective of the perceived level of interest or novelty; we also welcome confirmatory studies, as well as null and negative results.

  • Meet the open data and ethical policies of the chosen F1000 publishing venue.

The corresponding author is the person who submits the manuscript and other related documentation to the F1000 publishing venue. The corresponding author is the primary contact between the journal and all other authors. To be eligible to publish under this open access agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with a participating institution.
