F1000 is proud to be joining the London Book Fair this year with our colleagues at Taylor & Francis as co-sponsors of the Research and Scholarly Publishing Forum. This year’s event is held at the Olympia Theatre between April 5th-7th 2022.
Connect with us
We look forward to connecting with the publishing community in person and encourage those interested in learning more about our open research publishing partnerships to visit our stand 7G31.
You can learn more about our new, innovative book publishing concept called Open Plus Books, which enables authors or book editors to publish a book open access first within just a few days of submission.
You can also find out more about Routledge Open Research, a new publishing platform dedicated to researchers in the Arts, Humanities Behavioral and Social Sciences. Launching on Thursday 14th April 2022, Routledge Open Research will combine F1000’s innovative publishing model and technology with Routledge’s global reputation and reach to offer the first dedicated open research platform for HSS scholars.
Interact with our panel speakers
Tune in to the following sessions featuring some of our colleagues and connect with them afterwards to keep the discussion going:
The Evolution of the Research Article
Over the last 10 years, online publishing has enabled journal publishers to free themselves from the limitations of print. As a result, there have been creative innovations and experiments to enrich articles with additions such as collaborative tools, in-article executable code, videos and other animations. Despite this however, research is still required to fit the format of the traditional journal article. Instead, the article should be better accommodating the needs of researchers and society.
On Wednesday April 6th at 1:30PM – 2:15PM, our Strategic Partnerships Manager Rebecca Hill will take part in a panel session, discussing what the next steps in the evolution of the article can and should be.

Join Nicola Parkin (Director of Books Editorial Services for Taylor & Francis) and Rebecca Hill (Strategic Partnerships Manager for F1000) on Thursday April 7th at 10.10AM – 11:00AM during the Research and Scholarly Publishing Forum as they explore some of the challenges, conversations and opportunities we’ve addressed to enable books to be open: https://www.londonbookfair.co.uk/en-gb/whats-on/conferences/research-scholarly-publishing.html
