F1000 has established a Travel Grant Fund to recognize the contribution of Associate Faculty Members (AFMs) to its service.
Starting in January 2012, F1000 will contribute $1 to the Travel Grant Fund for each evaluation submitted to F1000; the totalizer shows the total fund value for 2012 to date.
At the end of the calendar year, the fund will be rounded up to the nearest multiple of $250.
The value of each Travel Grant will be $250, and the number of grants awarded will be the total value of the Travel Grant Fund at the end of the calendar year divided by 250.
All AFMs who have submitted at least six evaluations in the calendar year ending on 31 December 2012 will be eligible for consideration for a Travel Grant. Those submitting fewer than six evaluations in the calendar year ending on 31 December 2012 will not be eligible.
The number of Travel Grants available will be awarded to those eligible AFMs who, in the opinion of the judges, have submitted the most noteworthy evaluations.
The judges for the award of Travel Grants will be the Editorial Director for Biology and the Editorial Director for Medicine.
Those AFMs awarded Travel Grants will be notified by 31 January 2013.
