BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:Ikerbasque Research Professor, Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU; since 2007)
EDUCATION AND CAREER:
Following undergraduate (Molecular Biology) and PhD degrees (1989-1993) at the University of Leuven, Koen Vandenbroeck performed postdoctoral training at the San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (1994-1996) and the Rega Institute for Medical Research in Leuven (1996-1999). He was appointed to a lectureship at the School of Pharmacy of Queen's University Belfast where he promoted to the Chair of Applied Genomics in 2004.
