RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The Lawrence Lab is engaged in research at the nexus between Chemistry and Biology. We focus on cancer and, to a more limited extent, third world diseases. Our laboratories are housed in two separate facilities on the UNC campus, and are interconnected 24/7 via a real-time video conferencing system.

Our lab in the Department of Chemistry, where we make the molecules, is in Kenan Laboratories. Here we focus on organic synthesis, peptide synthesis, photochemistry, and enzymology.

Our lab in in the Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy, where the molecules are used to address fundamental questions in the biological and the biomedical sciences, is in the Genetic Medicine Building. Here we focus on enzymology, molecular and cell biology, and microscopy.
