BIOGRAPHY
Robert Basner is Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Director of the Adult Pulmonary Diagnostic Unit and the Cardiopulmonary Sleep and Ventilatory Disorders Center at Columbia University.His clinical interests include sleep-disordered breathing; abnormal pulmonary physiology while awake and during sleep, and non-invasive ventilation. His research interests comprise cardiopulmonary interactions while awake and during sleep; cardiovascular complications of sleep deprivation; pathophysiology and treatment of metabolic syndrome and obstructive sleep apnea syndrome. He is a Member of the American Federation for Clinical Research, the American Physiological Society, and the American Thoracic Society.
