EDUCATION:
Jeffrey W Pollard graduated from the University of Sheffield and received a PhD from the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, UK, in 1975. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto, Canada, he became faculty at the University of London, King’s College. In 1988 he joined the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and in 1993 became a Professor of Developmental and Molecular Biology.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
He has had a long history in the study of Reproductive Biology that has included studies on neuroendocrine regulation of puberty andestrus cycling, ovarian function, particularly germ cell development andmeiosis, reproductive immunity and the mechanism of action of female sex steroid hormones. He also has a particular interest in the roles of macrophagein reproduction, development and disease.
