Professor and Chairman of Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Oulu

AWARDS:
Dr Pihlajaniemi obtained the Anders Jahre’s Nordic Medical Prize for Young Scientists in 1994 and the Science Prize of the State of Finland (shared) in 1999.

RESEARCH INTERESTS
Her current research interests relate to cell-extracellular matrix interplay in physiological and pathological situations involving transmembrane collagens and the endostatin collagens.
