BIOGRAPHY

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Larry's major research interests are:
1. The causes of trophoblast deportation and its consequences for maternal physiology.
2. The life cycle of human placental trophoblasts.
3. The causes of autoimmune reproductive failure with a focus on events surrounding implantation in and infertility in humans and in particular the effects of antiphospholipid antibodies and antisperm antibodies.
4. The biological function of SPRASA, a sperm protein discovered recently by his research team.

MEMBERSHIPS:

He is a member of the Executive Councils of the Australia and New Zealand Placental Research Association, the Society for Reproductive Biology (Australia), and the International Federation of Placenta Associations. He is a member of the editorial boards of the journals, Trophoblast Research/Placenta and the Journal of Reproductive Immunology.
