BIOGRAPHY
EDUCATION: After preclinical studies at the University Regensburg, he completed his clinical education at the Technische Universität München and graduated in 1976; his M.D. thesis followed in 1978, the Habilitation in 1985MEMBERSHIPS/AWARDS: He currently holds a Fiebiger-Professorship (since 1990).
RESEARCH INTERESTS: His main interests are in renal physiology especially in renal tubule electrolyte transport and in osmoadaptation and volume regulation of renal medullary cells.
