Professor Young is coordinator, NHLBI Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Course in Vietnam; Tutor, NIH Clinical Research Training Program for Medical and Dental Students; Lecturer, George Washington University Hematology Board Review Course.

Professor Young holds a number of positions on committees and panels with the NHLBI and NIH. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the International Aplastic Anemia and Myelodysplasia Foundation and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board, Fanconi Anemia Research Fund.
