Charles W (Chuck) Hogue.

Academic positions:
- Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Cardiothoracic Anesthesia.
- Prior to joining The Johns Hopkins University, Dr Hogue was Associate Professor and Chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, Washington University School of Medicine.

In the past 5 years, he has received research support from Pfizer, Alexion, and Eisai Pharmaceuticals. In addition, he has received honoraria for lectures from Bayer Pharmaceuticals, ESP Pharma, and Hospira.

Research interests:
Dr Hogue's research interest is patient outcomes after cardiac surgery with a particular focus on neurological complications. For a number of years his research has concentrated on neurological complications for women undergoing cardiac surgery. This attention was based on findings that showed female gender is an independent risk factor for stroke after cardiac surgery. Other professional interests include the management of perioperative arrhythmias.
