BIOGRAPHY
Robert Casper is Professor of the Division of Reproductive Sciences with cross appointments in the Departments of Physiology and Medicine and in the Postgraduate Department of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. He is also a Senior Scientist in the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute at Mount SinaiHospital.Professor Casper's research covers the area of reproductive science with the predominant aim of translating basic physiologic and molecular discoveries into clinical applications. Major areas of interest include assisted reproductive technology including ovulation induction, endometriosis, hematopoietic stems cells and the adverse effects of environmental lighting and cigarette smoke toxicants on human health.Professor Casper is past President of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Genesis Research Foundation. He is also an honorary member of the Middle East Fertility Society and was awarded the Health Silver Medal of the Ministry of Health, Republic of Lebanon in 2001. He is the 2004 recipient of the CFAS award of excellence for lifetime research achievement. He is on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the Society for Gynecologic Investigation, Fertility and Sterility, the Obstetrical and Gynecological Survey, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Menopause, Reproductive Medicine Review, and the Journal of the Middle East Fertility Society.
