BIOGRAPHY
Dr Mellar is a staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, and also the Director of Research at the Harry R. Horvitz Centre for Palliative Medicine. Dr Mellar received his medical degree from Ohio State University, College of Medicine. His internal medicine residency was at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio, and his fellowship was performed at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.Dr Mellar is the recipient of the Compassion in Medicine Achievement Award from Riverside Methodist Hospital and the Special Achievement, Alumni Award from Otterbein College, Ohio. In 2001 he was a nominee for the Governers Community Service from the Chest Foundation.
