Associate Professor, University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine
EDUCATION:
BA, Northwestern University
PhD, State University of New York, Brooklyn
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My lab is interested in the neural mechanisms of extinction of learned fears. Due to recent gains in our understanding of fear learning, there has been a resurgence of interest in extinction from a neurobiological perspective. We use a variety of different techniques in rats to address the question of extinction, including pharmacological approaches (microinfusion), single-unit recording, microstimulation, immunocytochemistry, and computational modeling.
