BIOGRAPHY
Wilbert S. Aronow, MD is currently Professor of Medicine in the Divisions of Cardiology, Geriatrics, and Pulmonary/Critical Medicine at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College. He is also Chief of the Cardiology Clinic, Senior Associate Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program, Senior Associate Program Director and Research Mentor for the Residency and Fellowship Programs in the Department of Medicine, and Senior Associate Director of the Center for Educational Innovations Project Quality Research at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College.Dr. Aronow is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Geriatrics Society (Founding Fellow of Western Section), the Gerontological Society of America, and the New York Cardiological Society.
Dr. Aronow has edited 8 books and is author or coauthor of more than 1,200 papers and of more than 1,000 Letters to the Editor, commentaries, and abstracts. He has been a member of 60 editorial boards of medical journals, an associate editor for 6 medical journals, and a guest editor for 6 other medical journals.
He has received each year from 2001-2011 an outstanding teacher and researcher award from the medical residents and also from the cardiology fellows at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College. He has received awards from the Society of Geriatric Cardiology, the Gerontological Society of America, New York Medical College, and the Walter Bleifeld Memorial Award for distinguished contributions to clinical research from the International Academy of Cardiology at the 15th World Congress on Heart Disease in July, 2010.
