BIOGRAPHY
Brian Olshansky is tenured Professor of Medicine and Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals. He directs the Clinical Cardiac Electophysiology Fellowship Training Program.He is recognized for work regarding arrhythmia mechanisms, treatment of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and evaluation of syncope. His diverse interests range from technological and mechanistic aspects of cardiac electrophysiology to holistic and ethical issues. Professor Olshansky is presently the Principal Investigator and originator of the INTRINSIC RV trial and is involved with magnetic based technologies regarding catheter and lead positioning. He has expertise in the evaluation and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias using state-of-the-art techniques including: device implantation (pacemakers and implanted defibrillators), catheter ablation techniques, including for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He is an internationally known expert in his field and has pursued many avenues of research.EVALUATIONS
