Research interests: Macromolecular interactions in subcellular localization
Our research focuses on using computational approaches to understand the physical and molecular basis of the protein-lipid interactions that contribute to subcellular localization and the subsequent organization of proteins and lipids that leads to the assembly of macromolecular complexes at membrane surfaces.
We are currently dissecting two processes in which the targeting of proteins to membranes is crucial for function:
1) phosphoinositide signaling pathways, and
2) the assembly of new retroviruses in infected cells.
