• Tenure-track Investigator & Group leader, Department of Dermatology, University of Mainz (1999-2003)

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
• Physiological functions of mast cells, neurogenic inflammation, tolerance
• Pathogenesis and treatment of urticaria, mastocytosis, hereditary angioedema (HAE), autoinflammatory diseases

FACULTY OF 1000:
Dr Maurer joined Faculty of 1000 as a Faculty Member for the Urticaria, Vasculitis & Connective Tissue Disease Section (in the Dermatology Faculty) on June 19th 2007.

On August 19th 2011, following an invitation from Stephen Katz and Georg Stingl (Heads of the Dermatology Faculty), Dr Maurer was appointed as a Section Head for the Urticaria, Vasculitis & Connective Tissue Disease Section.
