Research interests:
General research area: development of alternative methods of carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption during low flow anaesthesia. He is the main inventor of a new form of CO2 absorbent for anaesthesia and is involved in a successful European Grant Application.

Memberships & Affiliations: Numerous of which include the Royal College of Anaesthetists and Intensive Care Training Committee (NI).
Also member of a recently appointed working party to examine the future of anaesthetic services in N. Ireland.
Reviewer of papers for the British Journal of Anaesthesia & the journal Anesthesiology.
Immediate past Regional Advisor to the Royal College of Anaesthetists (1996-2002) & current Chairman of the Postgraduate Training Committee (Anaesthetics)
Dr Murray's future academic aim is to complete a PhD thesis on new ideas for CO2 absorption during low-flow anaesthesia and he is currently doing a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
