BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:Adam Wanner, MD, is the Joseph Weintraub Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL.
EDUCATION:
He earned his MD from the University of Basel School of Medicine in Switzerland. He completed his medical residency at Kantonsspital Aarau in Switzerland, and a pulmonary fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami, FL.
EDITORIAL POSITIONS/MEMBERSHIPS:
He is active on a number of editorial boards for such journals as Respiration, Lung, and the Journal of Aerosol Medicine. He is currently the deputy editor of the Proceedings of the American Thoracic Society. He directs the American Lung Association's Asthma Clinical Research Centers' UM/USF site, and serves as Scientific Director of the Alpha-1 Foundation. In addition, he is the chairman of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute's COPD Clinical Research Network (NHLB-CCRN) Data Safety and Monitoring Board.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Pulmonary medicine, asthma and COPD.
