RESEARCH INTERESTS:
• Neural control of the gastrointestinal tract
• Afferent innervation of the stomach and intestine and effect of lumenal (nutrient) signals to activate neural and humoral pathways
• Role of nutrient transporters in epithelial and endocrine cells in sensory transduction in the intestine
• Expression of neuropeptides and neuropeptide receptors on visceral afferents
• Alteration in visceral afferent activity in functional bowel disease and obesity
