BIOGRAPHY
Received a B.S. in Chemistry from the Univ. of Oklahoma in 1969. Received a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Univ. of Oklahoma in 1974 in area of small molecule X-ray crystallography. Did Postdoctoral studies with S.-H. Kim at Duke University from 1974-1978. Employed by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as Staff Scientist from 1978-present. Current appointments in the Computational and Theoretical Biology Departments and Structural Biology Departments of the Physical Biosciences Division of LBNL. Research areas include Structural studies of RNA, RNA-protein complexes and DNA repair proteins, computational biology applied to problems of RNA structure and function, protein structure and function and RNA gene prediction.
