The main research interests of Prof Pelosi have been directed to respiratory physiology during anesthesia and respiratory failure.

Any other information: Society memberships include: - Italian National Society of Intensive Care Medicine - Italian Intensive Care Medicine - European Respiratory Society, - European Society of Intensive Care Medicine - European Society of Anesthesiology Recent duties for the ESA include chairman of the subcommittee "Intensive Care Medicine" at the ESA (1999-2003), Italian representative at the ESA (1999-2003), Assistant Secretary at the ESA Board (2002-2004), current member of the ESA Fellowship task force, ESA Research Committee, member as referee of the OLEH program, sponsored by ESA Prof. Pelosi is referee of the main important national and international journals in the anesthesia and intensive care field. He has been an invited speaker at 380 national and international meetings from 1990 to 2004, author or co-author of 67 peer review articles, 15 invited papers, 30 book chapters and more than 100 other publications.
