Department of Cardiology, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Camden, NJ, USA
BIOGRAPHY
Steven Hollenberg is Professor of Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/UMDNJ and Director of the Coronary Care Unit at CooperUniversityHospital in Camden, New Jersey.Professor Hollenberg's research interests relate to endothelial and myocardial function, with emphases on atherosclerosis and the pathophysiology of shock. In the laboratory, in vivo videomicroscopy, echocardiography, and implantable radiotelemetry are performed in a murine model. Clinical research interests include endothelial function on both the macrovascular and microvascular level, and vascular stiffness. Current clinical investigations include assessment of endothelial dysfunction and vascular compliance in patients with subclinical coronary artery disease using brachial artery ultrasonography, pulse wave velocity, and radial waveform analysis, and microvascular assessment in patients with shock using orthogonal polarization spectral imaging.
