C. Mel Wilcox MDAcademic positions: - Professor of Medicine - Director of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Research interests: Dr Wilcox's current research focus includes the role of endoscopic therapy in the treatment of pancreaticobiliary diseases. His group is currently studying the effect of endoscopic stenting on abdominal pain in chronic pancreatitis as well as additional modalities for the treatment of pain in this setting. Other areas of research include ERCP-related complications, AIDS- related gastrointestinal complications, and NSAID-associated gastrointestinal bleeding.
