Research interests:
Dr Cookson's research interests include healthcare associated infection and antimicrobial resistance. His centre has a multi-disciplinary approach to all aspects of healthcare associated infection prevention, surveillance and control. They use many molecular biological tools (eg microarrays, proteomics) in work at the Centre and also have interests in systematic reviews, policy and guideline development, behavioural and organisational change.
