BIOGRAPHY

Peter Ebeling is Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicine at WesternHospital, Melbourne. He also heads the Department of Endocrinology there.

Professor Ebeling's research interests include public health issues related to vitamin D deficiency; the pathophysiology and management of post-transplantation osteoporosis, particularly following bone marrow transplantation; the genetics and treatment of osteoporosis in men; the efficacy and safety of vertebroplasty and the clinical utility of biochemical markers of bone turnover.He co-chairs the Australian Musculoskeletal Quality Improvement Programme and is past President of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society. Professor Ebeling also chairs the Victorian State Committee of the RoyalAustralasianCollege of Physicians. He is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research and of Reumatología Clínica. He is Honorary Editor of Osteoblast and a member of the Medical and Scientific Committee of Osteoporosis Australia.
