Research interests:
Dr. Di Lorenzo has conducted extensive research on gastrointestinal motility in children and the pathophysiology and treatment of several childhood functional bowel disorders.

Dr. Di Lorenzo has authored more than 90 original articles and 50 chapters and invited reviews. He has co-authored the only book on pediatric gastrointestinal motility, titled Pediatric Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and the Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, and has served on the Executive Council of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He was named among the Best Doctors in 2005.
