Sudha Agarwal - F1000 Faculty Member (since 18 August 2009)
Department of Oral Biology/Orthopedics, Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Columbus, OH, USA
BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:Professor, Research for Muscle Biology and Disease, Ohio State University Nationwide Childrens Hospital
EDUCATION:
1973 PhD, Cell Physiology, Northeastern University, Boston, MA
1972-73 Post-doc, Immunology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston
1983-87 Post-doc, Immunology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Mechanotransduction: intracellular mechanisms of stress-induced signal transduction in musculoskeletal cells and tissues. This project involves examination of the intracellular mechanisms of cartilage/muscle repair by mechanical signals in vitro and in vivo. Mechanical signals play major role in augmenting hosts ability to regenerate and/or repair musculoskeletal tissues.
