BIOGRAPHY
Richard Auchus is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas where his primary appointment is in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology.Dr Auchus' lab explores the fundamental chemical principles that govern the biosynthesis of steroid hormones in human beings and how these principles relate to human disease. Another focus is the origin of the strong directional preferences exhibited by the hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD) enzymes in intact cells.These studies are relevant to hypertension, infertility, and intersex disorders.EVALUATIONS
