BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:Director, Endometriosis Division, Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, São Paulo University
SOCIETY POSITIONS:
Dr Abrão has been President of the Brazilian Society of Endometriosis and Minimally Invasive Gynecology since 2008.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr Abrao is committed to the implementation of a multidisciplinary approach in the management of endometriosis that includes basic research, improving imaging techniques and evaluating clinical and surgical therapeutic options by involving gynecologists, colorectal surgeons and urologists in the process. In this way, reproductive health professionals may contribute towards and profit from new approaches in the treatment of this disease and other areas of the minimally invasive gynecology . Research development and minimally invasive surgical techniques for endometriosis are the primary focuses of Dr Abrao’s work and he is in continuous search for advancement in this area.
