BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:In 2009, Mark was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine and named the Robert B Friend and Michelle M Friend Endowed Chair in Diabetes Research at University of California, San Francisco.
EDUCATION:
Mark Anderson received his doctorate in immunology in 1992 and his medical degree in 1994 from the University of Chicago. He engaged in clinical training in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics from 1994 to 1998. He then went on to pursue a clinical fellowship in Adult Endocrinology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 1998 to 2001. He also did a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Diane Mathis and Christophe Benoist at the Joslin Diabetes Center from 1999 to 2002.
