BIOGRAPHY

Greg Schmidt is Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Iowa. He is Director of Critical Care Medicine there.Professor Schmidt's interests are in the areas of mechanical ventilation of critically ill patients, analysis of ventilator waveforms of flow and pressure, and judging the adequacy of volume replacement in patients in shock. He is an investigator in the ARDS Network's Fluid and Catheter Treatment Trial (FACTT).He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and the Chicago Thoracic Society (past president). He is Co-Director of the ACCP Critical Care Board Review Course, the ATS Clinical State of the Art Course and is on the Education Committee of the ATS. His numerous editorial responsibilities include being a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Chest.
