International advisory board
The International Advisory Board advises F1000 on broad policy issues and on its development of new products and services. The International Advisory Board also assists with the selection of Heads of Faculty for each of the 32 Faculties that currently make up the F1000Prime service.

2015 Breakthrough Prize
Jennifer Doudna, Section Head in Structural Biology, has won the 2015 Breakthrough Prize for her discovery in 2012 of CRISPR genome-editing technology. The technique is now used by research groups worldwide.
Vilcek Prize in Biomedical science
Cell Biology Section Head Peter Walter recently received the 2015 Vilcek Prize in Biomedical science for his the discovery of the signal recognition particle in cells and his ground-breaking work on the unfolded protein response. The prize is awarded to immigrants to the US who have made significant contributions to science.
Australia day honours
Brendan Crabb, Microbiology Section Head, was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) as part of the Australia day honours. The award recognises his contributions to malaria research, particularly vaccine development and new therapies.
