BIOGRAPHY

Robert Lanfear is an Associate Faculty Member who works with Faculty Member Max Telford to recommend the scientific literature in their field.

Robert Lanfear also has responsibility for checking the contents of the following journals to ensure that the highest quality research relevant to their own interests within these publications is comprehensively and systematically evaluated for F1000:

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My current research focuses on understanding the evolutionary forces that shape genomes and ecosystems. Most evolutionary processes (such as mutation, selection, substitution and gene duplication) leave traces in the genomes of living organisms. I develop methods to detect and disentangle these traces, and then use them to test evolutionary hypotheses. Right now, I'm working on using molecular phylogenies to understand diversification and community assembly.
