• 1967-1991 Research position at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysics and Lecturer at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University in Frankfurt(Main)/Germany
• 1966-1967 Postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md./USA
• 1966 Thesis for medical doctor (Dr.med.) at the Free University in Berlin/Germany
