BIOGRAPHY

Joop Vermeer is an Associate Faculty Member who works with Faculty Member Niko Geldner to recommend the scientific literature in their field.

Joop Vermeer also has responsibility for checking the contents of the following journals to ensure that the highest quality research relevant to their own interests within these publications is comprehensively and systematically evaluated for F1000:

ACADEMIC POSITION:
Postdoctoral Fellow: Plant Cell Biology Lab, Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Lausanne, Switzerland

EDUCATION:
PhD, Department of Molecular Cytology, Swammerdam Institute for Life Science, University of Amsterdam

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Dr Vermeer is interested in the role of the Casparian Strip (CS) during primary root growth and lateral root emergence. He wants to know when the CS disappears, which factors are needed for this process and how the CS of the lateral root gets re-connected with the CS of the primary root. To solve this, he wants to use functional genomics and 4D live-cell imaging.
