ACADEMIC POSITIONS:
• Professor of Pediatrics, 2nd Medical School, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic
• Head, Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, University Hospital Motol, Prague

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
• Chairman, Czech Working Group for Pediatric Hematology (CPH)
• Member of SIOP (International Society of Pediatric Oncology) since 1990 (member of the Board of the SIOP-Europe 2003-2007, member of the Training and Educational Committee SIOP-E 2003-2009)
• Member of EBMT (European Blood and Marrow Transplant Group) since 1993 (scientific secretary EBMT meeting, Prague, 2005)
• Member of I-BFM-SG (International Study Group on Childhood Leukemias) since 1996 (Current position: member of the Executive Board and ALL Strategy Committee)
• Member of EWOG-MDS ( European Working Group for MDS in children) since 1996 (chairman 2002-2006)

CLINICAL RESEARCH EXPERIENCE:
Chairman of all clinical trials for diagnosis and treatment of childhood leukemia (phase II, III and IV studies) in the Czech Republic since 1986. Member of the Trial Steering Committee and Trial Management Committee, ALL Intercontinental-BFM 2002 Study.
