Sabine Müller
Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, Germany F1000 Faculty Member (since 15 March 2006)BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION:Professor, Institut für Biochemie, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald
EDUCATION:
1990 Diploma in Chemistry, Humboldt University Berlin
1994 Dr rer nat in Chemistry, Humboldt University Berlin, with Prof Dr D Cech
1994-1996 Postdoctoral Fellow at the Medical Research Council, Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK with Dr MJ Gait
RESEARCH INTEREST:
We are interested in RNA molecules that possess catalytic activity with functional consequences, and therefore try to develop small functional RNAs as models for information transfer and catalysis in RNA world scenarios. For this purpose we apply rational and evolutive design strategies along with organic synthesis and biophysical methods for structure- and mechanism analysis.
Another aim of research is the preparation of monomeric building blocks for chemical DNA and RNA synthesis as well as the synthesis of the biopolymers themselves.
