Eero Jokinen

BIOGRAPHY

CURRENT POSITION:
Eero Jokinen is Head of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatrics at HUCH (Hospital for Children and Adolescents) which is affiliated with the University of Helsinki.

MEMBERSHIPS:
Professor Jokinen is a member of numerous national and international societies, the Finnish Medical Association, the Finnish Paediatric Association, the Finnish Cardiac Society, the European Association for Paediatric Cardiologists, the European Society of Cardiology. He is also on the Editorial Board of Cardiology in the Young.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Main interests of research are early prevention of atherosclerosis; regulation of heart development and long-term prognosis of patients with congenital heart disease (long-term mortality and morbidity, academic and socio economic aspects; possible neurological sequelae; postoperative long-term diastolic function of the ventricles; and early detection of right ventricular heart failure).
