Guy Tran Van Nhieu
Unité de Pathogenie Microbienne Moleculaire, Institut Pasteur, Paris, France F1000 Faculty Member (since 07 October 2002)BIOGRAPHY
ACADEMIC POSITION: Director: Unite de Pathogenie Microbienne Moleculaire, Institut Pasteur, France
Head, DR2 Inserm, Collège de France
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The team's research is focused on the characterization of the function of T3S effectors and signaling pathways involved in bacterial-induced cytoskeletal reorganization and invasion of epithelial cells. In recent years, to gain insights into the coordination of the function of these T3S effectors during Shigella invasion, we have developed microscopy and imaging techniques in order to characterize spatio-temporal aspects of bacterial invasion. The development of these approaches has opened new venues on original aspects concerning the T3SS, intercellular communication induced by bacterial invasion, as well as early recognition events concerning the initial steps of host cell interaction.
MEMBERSHIPS/AWARDS:
Associate editor for Plos Pathogens Journal
Awarded a new INSERM Unit, ranked A+ by INSERM scientific instances. Will move as « Equipe accueillie » to the Collège de France
