Biography:
Justin Chalker received his BS in Chemistry and his BA in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006. He carried out undergraduate research in the lab of Professor Theodore Cohen where he contributed to the total synthesis of multiple natural products. Justin then moved to the University of Oxford where he completed his D.Phil. with Professor Benjamin Davis, developing novel chemistry for the site-selective modification of proteins. In 2012, Justin took up a position at The University of Tulsa as an assistant professor. A central interest in his current research is the development of new reactions for the selective manipulation of biomolecules, especially peptides and proteins.
