FACULTY OF 1000:Dr Mason joined Faculty of 1000 as an Associate Faculty Member working alongside Monica Bessler in the Pediatric Hematology Section (in the Hematology Faculty) on April 14th 2010. As an Associate Faculty Member, Dr Mason had responsibility for checking the contents of the following journals to ensure that the highest quality research relevant to their own interests within these publications was comprehensively and systematically evaluated for F1000:
- American Journal of Human Genetics
- Nature Genetics
On November 8th 2012, following an invitation from Andrea Bacigalupo, Jakob Passweg, Griffin Rodgers and Neal Young (Heads of the Anemias & Hypocellular Marrow Disorders Section), Dr Mason was appointed as a Faculty Member.

RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My research is directed to understanding the roles of ribosome biogenesis and telomere maintenance in human disease. We are particularly interested in the genetics and pathogenesis of two inherited bone marrow failure syndromes, dyskeratosis congenita and Diamond Blackfan anemia.
