CURRENT POSITION:Marja Jäättelä is head of the Cell Death and Metabolism research unit at the Danish Cancer Society Research Center in Copenhagen and Professor in Cancer Biology at the University of Copenhagen.
EDUCATION:
She received her MD and PhD degrees from the University of Helsinki and performed postdoctoral training at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Her present research interests include lysosomes and autophagosomes in cancer progression, alternative cell death pathways and sphingolipid metabolism.
