CURRENT POSITION:Dr Matthew Banks BSc MB FRCP PhD is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Director of Endoscopy at University College London Hospital NHS Trust.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND:
Matthew Banks studied medicine at University College London and trained in gastroenterology at St Bartholomews & The London as well as University College London Hospital. He obtained a PhD in intestinal physiology and the mechanisms of diarrhoea. He learned endoscopic ultrasound during a years fellowship in Australia and subsequently learned endoscopic resection techniques for early cancers in Japan.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Matthew Banks is a gastroenterologist at University College London Hospital with an interest in oesophago-gastric disease including Barrett's oesophagus, acid reflux, cancer, endoscopic ultrasound and interventional endoscopy.
