Dr. Onyike, a neuropsychiatrist and clinical epidemiologist, specializes in the treatment of midlife behavioral and cognitive disorders, especially primary neurodegenerative diseases such as frontotemporal dementias and Alzheimer disease.EDITORIAL ACTIVITIES: Ad hoc reviewer for journals such as Brain, American Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, American Journal of Epidemiology, Archives of General Psychiatry, Neuroepidemiology, International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders, Behavioral Neurology, Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology.
RESEARCH INTERESTS: Clinical epidemiology, phenomenology, development of psychosocial interventions, and treatment trials in frontotemporal dementias and related disorders.
PUBLIC SERVICE: Dr. Onyike is a member of the Medical Advisory Council of the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, the Board of Directors of the Alzheimer's Association in Maryland (and the association's Medical and Scientific Advisory Board), and the Maryland Commission for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders.
