ACADEMIC POSITION:Chief of Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan, Italy
MEMBERSHIPS/EDITORIAL:
He is a member of the Italian Society of Otolaryngology, the Italian Society of Maxillo-Facial Surgery, the Italian Society of Skull Base Surgery and the European Society of Skull Base Surgery. Over the years he has written 6 book chapters and about 50 scientific articles.
RESEARCH INTERETS:
His main field of interest is head and neck tumors, in particular, tumors of the oral cavity, oropharynx and cervical oesophagus. He has developed an original technique for transmandibular resection without lip-splitting. He is also interested in skull base surgery, where he got the largest series in the world of resections of malignant tumors involving the anterior skull base (400), and proposed a clinical and prognostic classification of ethmoid malignant tumors.
